$50 Gift Card, Powell's Books (redeem in-store OR online)

Even though I live in Richmond, Virginia, I trade a huge number of books to the fantastic indie bookstore based in Portland, Oregon. As such, I tend to have a continuous balance of "virtual credit" available, from which I can order anything from their store, including gift cards*, which may either be mailed or sent electronically, and may be used at any Powells store in Portland, or online at

In addition, Powells gift cards can be used for orders of Books, which can be read on your computer or via an e-reader such as Barnes and Noble's Nook (cannot, at this time, be used on the Kindle).

Both lower and higher denominations available, but since online orders of $50 or more can in most circumstances qualify book orders for free shipping within the U.S., I'm making that the default amount here.
