Whether you have 100 books or thousands, I can help you catalog your collection using a variety of means: 1) Scanning barcodes (I use a "CueCat" optimized for use with LibraryThing), 2) manual input of ISBNs for books without barcodes, and 3) other manual input options (verifying publications through the Library of Congress).

Service includes showing you how to use the system on your own, once the actual cataloging is done. You'll then have an excellent tool not only for keeping track of books you own (and future acquisitions), but also for evaluating which, if any, of your books you might wish to sell, trade, and/or donate in the future; many websites (for instance, the wonderful indie bookstore, have systems whereby you can input ISBNs from a spreadsheet (which I'll create for you) to see what they'll buy or accept for trade. (Most such vendors will also pay your shipping charges for books they accept.)

If you wish, I can also help you get set up on sites like BookMooch and PaperbackSwap, if you're interested in offering your books for trades (of course, you could also list these right here on BarterQuest), and/or on Amazon, Bonanzle, and other sale sites.

It is highly recommended - but not required - that you first have or get a LibraryThing account (free if your collection is under 200 books; lifetime memberships are only $35); - visit http:// for more information. (Note: Your LibraryThing collection - should you choose that option - may be either public or private; also, for the record, I have no affiliation with LibraryThing except as an enthusiastic user.)

If you wish to share your collection via social media (GoodReads, FriendFeed, and so forth), I can walk you through those processes, as well.

Finally, while I am only able to provide this service within the Richmond Metro area of Virginia, my future bookhunting trips are likely to take me all over (in particular: between here and New York City, as well as points between Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon), so if you're interested in this service but don't live in Richmond, let me know, and I'll see if I can figure something out! (Bonus: If you're willing to throw in a guest room or couch-surfing opportunity.)
