A set of two Japanese reference dictionaries
(for advanced learners of Japanese)

The first is a complete Kanji dictionary (or Kanji "resource")

漢字源

Look up kanji by number of strokes; the entry for each character then lists sample sentences etc.

The front endpaper shows all the radicals which are used in Japanese kanji.The front endpaper shows a map of China.

The second is a compact illustrated dictionary of old Japanese.

The dictionary lists ancient words and their origins, and is complete with line-drawings.

The front endpaper shows phases of the moon on the traditional calendar. The rear endpaper shows a map of the old divisions of Japan.

Together these dictionaries make a great resource for advanced learners of Japanese. They are not really suitable for beginners or intermediate learners as they are not bilingual - there is no English inside.

Both are in excellent condition. Although they are both a few years old (and new editions of both are now on sale on Amazon etc.) they have never been used.
