A Native Hawaiian (Kane) "Man" pounds poi, a starchy root plant which was the traditional staple of the hawaiian diet before European contact. The location is present day Ala moana Beach set back before the 1700's before crushed coral was dredged and the swampy marsh was drained and filled with sand gravel. This painting is the culmination of a months labor not including research for historical accuracy, the detail is excellent and it will make a fine addition to anyone's collection or a great stand alone piece to impress all your guests.
