I have a PhD in economics from UC Berkeley and can teach in spanish and english. I tutored while college than after through a non-profit working with kids with poor english skills. I spent many semesters as a teaching assistant so I have lots of classroom teaching plus all of the hours of one on one tutoring that is part of the teaching assistant's job. I most enjoy working with kids who are struggling, either due to language issues or poor preparation in previous grades. I am comfortable working across cultures. As an immigrant myself, I understand some of the seemingly silly obstacles that can get in the way of classroom success. I'm also ok working with kids with behavioral issues. I can do Test Prep to for SAT, PSAT.
